Place2b is a place to explore, a location to be.
What is the aim of the project “places2b”?
This two-year partnership, coordinated by Cocoate, includes European institutions in France, Italy, Wales, Turkey and Greece. The common thread being that all partners are located in rural areas with growing tourism. In European regions as well as their integrated local areas, the preservation and promotion of the landscapes and cultures of each country are important for the sustainable development of tourist facilities in those regions. This approach can also be seen as an opportunity to encourage the diversification of regional economies.
What is a European Learning Partnership?
Learning partnerships are a part of the Life Long Learning Program of the EU, which is designed to promote cooperation projects between European bodies working in the field of adult education in the broadest sense of the word. Education and training throughout life are primarily held at school and university, but also by exchanging experiences, ideas and inter-cultural meetings.
What are the objectives of the project “places2b”?
The project has two main objectives:
- Establish regular roundtable discussions on experiences, similarities and the development of new approaches to regional tourism among stakeholders, policy makers and local people.
- Create a local/regional tourist guide. Places with character that tell personal stories and allow the description of why they are unique and important and why tourists should visit these places, have been chosen.
Why should you participate?
- You want to rediscover your area with a group of people and create a tourist guide.
- You are interested in participating actively in the development of regional tourism.
- You are curious to discover what “places2b” exist in partner countries and to discuss with people from other cultures how they develop their regional tourism.
You are cordially invited to the first regional meeting during which the contents of the project will be presented in detail and initial discussions will begin.
